Hi, welcome to my website. I hope you find what you need here; if not why not drop me an email by going to my contact page.
I live in Wirksworth with my wife Ali and two boys, Jacob and Oscar. In 2003 I set my workshop up in the old narrow tape mill next to our house; when I started to take on more and larger jobs which I couldn’t handle in my tiny workshop at home.
Having started out mainly painting landscapes and house portraits, I developed the landscape paintings to more sculptural work with the opportunity presented by having the workshop. This is something which I have done less of as I became busier with commissions for kitchens and fittted furniture. Time permitting, it is something which I may return to one day. I do still take commissions for house portraits. If you would like to see some of this work let me know.
This earlier grounding in fine arts, combined with experience gained at Chesterfield and Brighton Colleges of Art and Design, reflects in some of my furniture and cabinet making. Everything receives a great attention to detail in both design and construction. Design of original and one off work is something I get great pleasure from, whether it be a whole kitchen or a single piece of furniture. I love the idea of creating functional works of art.
Below is a photograph of my Grandfather, who like his father was a cabinet maker in Bradford. The planes seen in this photograph can now be found in my workshop along with other tools of their trade, alongside modern machinery and tools.
